Ryan Mac Design (aka Dopeium, aka Create Adrenaline, aka Serial Kitten, aka Silent Monkeys) is the portfolio and design services of Baltimore, MD based designer and illustrator Ryan MacMurray.

Background

As a designer I have had the opportunity to work with some great clients. I have often worked with clients that were in the process of rapid growth as a small start-up company. As someone who is often involved in the early stages of cultivating a brand and identity I have helped businesses such as Adrenaline Lacrosse, South Swell Sports, The Lax Hut, and Austin Sports and Social Club, to name a few, develop into highly successful organizations. Currently I am working as a full-time web designer and developer for Groove Commerce in Canton Baltimore.

Apparel Design

I’m addicted to apparel designs. I try to merge traditional illustration and art techniques, and digital media to create a product. I have been told my style is generally very clean, but I generally do whatever it takes to get the job done.

Illustration

Illustration is intimate and personal to me. I look for reactive qualities in the subject matter, and a style of an illustration, in order to evoke a deeper emotional response in the viewer. I also look for opportunities to develop natural hand rendered elements for typography and details whenever I can.

Logo and Identity Design

Creating unique logos and identities that persevere is a process that is challenging and rewarding. I keep the experience fluid and flexible for the client and business. I feel that a research and discussion period, where we gather ideas, imagery, and iconography, and try to identify what fits best with the company name, culture, and product, is essential before the first logo design attempt is made. I tend to work simple, modern styles and strive for cleanness and functionality.

Print Design

Print design comes in many forms and shapes so it often takes a lot of collaboration between designer, printer and client to make sure you get the best result. I try to make communication and planning the focus of any print endeavor.

Website Design

I keep my arsenal of web design skills fresh. My goal is to create websites that are easy to maintain, and ranks well with the major search engines. These days that means a lot of WordPress sites. I am currently involved in learning about developing eCommerce sites on the Magento platform as well.
