In 2008, The Lax Hut was in need of an online e-commerce site to compliment their three Long Island based physical locations. The design needed to reflect a laid back, youth driven lacrosse culture. The site also needed to express the East Coast surf culture that is part of the Long Island area, and helped feed into The Lax Hut’s unique culture, and therefore separate and define the brand compared to other national competitors.

We had a very short turn around and a limited budget so I was tasked with designing and developing a site based on the X-Cart software template.The site has undergone a few revisions and upgrades since being launched in February of 2008 and has seen consistent traffic and sales growth. In the past year comparing August through July of 2009 and 2010, Search Engine traffic has risen 30% and online and in-store sales from online promotions have increased.
